Snooki could be spending another summer falling down on the beach in Seaside Heights.
"Jersey Shore" has delayed its production for "at least a few weeks" and the eight cast members are no longer taking off for Italy on April 14, E! News reported.
The reality show stars, who often brag about their Italian heritage, were set to spend the fourth season of the show in Italy. But while an E! source said the problem was that producers were having trouble getting permits, other sources insisted it was the ongoing contract negotiations that were slowing down the shooting date.
One source told E! that if the problems continue, the show might just film in Seaside Heights, N.J. – where the first and third season were filmed.
The switch back to Seaside would be awkward for the show, which has already released promos of the season in Italy.
But the problem might not be the location.
Last week, Radaronline.com reported that many of the cast members had not signed their contracts yet and were holding out for more money.
The cast, who once earned only a few hundred dollars per episode, have been fighting with MTV for higher salaries since the second season when their show became an unlikely hit.
