University cancels sex class after professor hosts live, nude demonstration

Northewestern said it is cancelling a popular human sexuality course, which was taught by a professor who came under fire earlier this year for featuring a sex toy demonstration during a panel talk.
Students looking to study sex toy engineering should probably apply somewhere other than Northwestern University.

The prestigious Chicagoland school said it is pulling a human sexuality class taught by a controversial professor who hosted a live sex demonstration during an optional discussion earlier this year.

Psychology department chairman Dan McAdams said the professor, J. Michael Bailey, would not teach the popular sex course next year.

"I learned a week or two ago that they had decided to cancel the course for next year," McAdams told the Chicago Tribune. "The decision was made higher up than me at the central administration level."

The school came under fire in late February after Bailey, one of the most popular professors on campus, hosted an after-class discussion about sexual fetishes that featured speakers from Chicago's BDSM community.

During the discussion, a woman stripped naked and had her partner use a battery-powered sex toy on her.

As news about the impromptu sex show spread, Bailey and the school initially defended the decision to allow it.

The professor stressed that his students were adults and that he had warned them beforehand that parts of the lecture would be explicit.

He later apologized and said it wouldn't happen again.

Northwestern said their decision to pull the class was based on a review of "how such a course best fits into the university's curriculum."

Cameron Diaz says the institution of marriage is 'dying'

Sexy Cameron Diaz, who has never lacked the company of attractive men, has declared that marriage is a “dying institution.”

“I think we have to make our own rules,” the 38-year old singleton tells Maxim in its June issue. “I don't think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don't suit our world any longer."

Diaz, who has been linked with Matt Dillon, Justin Timberlake and now Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, has pretty specific ideas on what makes a relationship work.

“Guys need women who challenge them and don't let them get away with their s**t," says Diaz. "Women, conversely, need to not be crazy bitches who blow up when their guys tell them something that scares them."

The blonde glamazon is currently promoting her new movie “Bad Teacher,” where she plays a sex-crazed, pot smoking middle school teacher.

Diaz is ranked #4 on Maxim's 2011 Hot 100, and to repay the favor, Diaz happily posed for the bawdy men’s mag, laying seductively across a desk in a thigh-high miniskirt and red stilettos in a clutter-filled classroom.

“It’s not every day that one of the world’s biggest movie stars offers to fulfill your schoolboy fantasies,” pants Maxim. “But then Cameron Diaz is not your average movie star… Miss Diaz, we’ve been bad, bad boys!”

As for her romance with A-Rod? Diaz tells Maxim, "It's really awesome."

Just don’t ask her where the ring is.

Classic Beauty Claire Sinclair Wins Playmate of the Year

For Claire Sinclair, the idea of being named the 2011 Playmate of the Year is still a bit surreal.

"This is beyond any dream I could have imagined," Sinclair told to FOX411.com. "Just 23 months ago, I was a high school student in East (Los Angeles)."

Sinclair, 19, received the honor during an exclusive ceremony on May 6 at the Moon Nightclub inside the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Playboy founder Hugh Hefner said Sinclair's style reminded him of Bettie Page, a popular 1950s pinup model who was also Playboy Magazine's Miss January cover model in 1955.

The 52nd Playmate of the Year, whose real name is Clarissa Irene Riccio, has modeled since the age of 14. A Playboy pinup artist who painted a portrait of Sinclair introduced Sinclair to Hefner at the Playboy Mansion. Sinclair was eventually chosen as the cover girl for Playboy's October 2010 issue.

She’s already taken full advantage of the exposure, appearing on reality television shows "The Girls Next Door" and "Holly's World," guest starring in the MGM Grand’s “Crazy Horse” French cabaret show, and serving as the official spokesmodel for, you guessed it, Bettie Page Clothing.

"I feel like when you're Playmate of the Month, you have a month to strike," said Sinclair. "This just extends it for a year and it's just a blessing in itself."

Unfortunately, the California wasn't old enough to celebrate at the nightclub she was honored at. As for Sinclair’s celebratory plans following her acceptance speech, they weren't as exciting as one would imagine for a Playmate of the Year honoree.

"Tonight I'm going to go out to the movies with my friends because I'm under 21, so there's not going to be any hardcore clubbing," said Sinclair. "We're just going to have a nice little gathering."

Bin Laden had been limp - used herbal Viagra: wife

Osama bin Laden wasn't on kidney dialysis, despite many longstanding theories.

Osama Bin Laden wasn't on kidney dialysis - but he did need an herbal impotence drug.

"He believed in his own medication," said his youngest widow, Amal al-Sadeh, who was shot in the leg when SEALs burst into their bedroom and killed the terror leader.

The health of the shadowy terror leader had long been a bone of contention in intelligence circles.

Now evidence from the medicine cabinet in Bin Laden's hideout and quotes from one of his six wives paint a picture of a 54-year-old devotee of natural remedies who was in much better shape than previously thought.

"He was neither weak nor frail," Sadeh, 29, told Pakistani investigators, according to the Dawn newspaper in Karachi, Pakistan.

NBC News obtained a list of medications found in Bin Laden's compound and none are used to treat long-term chronic illness.

Instead, the Pakistanis found drugs to treat shingles, ulcers, nerve pain, high blood pressure, common children's ailments - and Avena syrup, an extract of wild oats that is marketed as a natural "Viagra."

A Yemeni who was just 17 when she was wed to a middle-aged Bin Laden, Sadeh said the 9/11 mastermind had recovered fully from two kidney surgeries a decade ago, Dawn reported.

Back in 1999, the Saudis reportedly hired an assassin to poison Bin Laden, and the toxin gave him kidney failure.

For years, there have been persistent reports that he was on the brink of death.

In January 2002, then-Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf told CNN that Bin Laden had probably already died of kidney failure, and that he needed to travel with two dialysis machines.

But Bin Laden's wife said he needed no dialysis. Instead, she said, he cured himself with his own regimen, which included watermelons.

Sadeh told officials that she and Bin Laden had just gone to bed and switched off the lights when they heard the first gunshots of the 1 a.m. SEAL raid.

She said that before Bin Laden could reach for his AK-47, the U.S. commandos burst in and shot him, Dawn reported.

That contradicts earlier Pakistani reports quoting her saying that Bin Laden was first taken into custody and then shot down in front of his young daughter.

Sadeh was shot in the leg in the attack. She is recovering in a military hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

Bin Laden's sixth wife, Sadeh is variously known as Amal Ahmed Abdulfattah and Amal Ahmed al-Sadah.

She says she remained a virtual prisoner along with her husband and their 5-year-old daughter - none of them had left the compound in five years.

Dawn reported that survivors of the SEAL raid included two more Bin Laden wives, both highly educated Saudis; an older son; a 22-year-old daughter; 5-year-old Safia, and four children of a Bin Laden daughter who was killed in a drone strike in the Waziristan region of Pakistan.

According to Bin Laden biographer Peter Bergen, Bin Laden's first and second wives divorced him, and two more wives have not been heard of since the 2001 bombing of Afghanistan.

A fifth wife had their marriage annulled in the 1990s.

Bin Laden has fathered between 20 and 26 children.

Pippa Middledton offered $5 MILLION for porn role

After a photo of Pippa Middleton in a bra surfaced, Vivid offered her $5 million to film a scene.

After a photo of Pippa Middleton in a bra surfaced, Vivid offered her $5 million to film a scene.
Kate Middleton's sister Pippa is very xxx-citing to some people.

After racy photos surfaced last week of a half-naked Pippa dancing with an equally un-dressed male, porn company Vivid Entertainment has offered Prince William's sister-in-law $5 million to shoot one "explicit" scene.

Vivid president Steven Hirsh has sent the 27-year-old a letter, which TMZ obtained, telling her that she was the real star of the royal wedding and that her "beauty and attitude" would make her a huge adult star.

"After seeing photos of you having a great time at a party, I decided to offer you a role in one of our upcoming movies," Hirsch wrote.

Pippa isn't the only Middleton wanted by Vivid.

Her brother James, who's also facing scandal after a photo of himself with his hand down his pants leaked onto the internet last week, has been offered $1 million as well to appear in a porno.

No word yet if Pippa or James accepted the indecent proposal -- but we can only imagine it wouldn't sit too well with Buckingham Palace.

Rebuilding ground zero,World Trade center at New York

In the next three years, no-work jobs could add $96.2 million to the cost of the many World Trade Center rebuilding projects

In the next three years, no-work jobs could add $96.2 million to the cost of the many World Trade Center rebuilding projects

No-work jobs in a mob-linked union could add nearly $100 million to the public cost of rebuilding Ground Zero, a new report charges.

The Real Estate Board of New York, a major developers' group, says antiquated rules let a cadre of crane and heavy equipment workers pocket six-figure paychecks for little more than showing up.

In the next three years the no-work jobs, controlled by Locals 14 and 15 of the Operating Engineers, could add $96.2 million to the cost of World Trade Center projects, the REBNY says.

The projects include the Freedom Tower, the transit hub, the 9/11 Memorial and surrounding street work.

Contractor and union sources confirmed that the eight tower cranes at the WTC site guarantee a bonanza for Local 14 operating engineers and the Local 15 specialists who fix them.

On one day in mid-March, for example, contractors said 56 of 204 Local 14 and Local 15 employees on site held no-work jobs.

The board compiled the statistics in the runup to contract talks with the operating engineers and all the city's construction unions, which start next month.

Local 14 and 15 officials did not return calls seeking comment.

Many of the jobs are vestiges of an era in which the Colombo and Genovese crime families controlled Locals 14 and 15. Local 14 has been under a federal monitor since 2009.

One example is the full-time Local 14 "master mechanics" the contractor must hire whenever five pieces of heavy equipment or three tower cranes are in use.

With a $135,000 base salary, a master mechanic can make a staggering $405,000 a year with overtime that's guaranteed by six-day, 12- to 16-hour-a-day schedules. Welfare benefits, insurance and other costs hike the annual bill to $700,000 for that one mechanic.

It's a ridiculous requirement, REBNY says, because the manufacturer or crane owner does the repairs, not the contractor's master mechanics.

Instead, they are glorified shop stewards, a part-time job in most unions. With three required on site a day, that should cost about $6.3 million through 2013, the board says.

Master mechanic Carl Carrara Sr., identified as a Genovese associate, was charged in a 2003 racketeering conspiracy as the mob's point man in a no-show scam at the Museum of Modern Art.

He and six other master mechanics pleaded guilty that year in two cases that put much of Local 14 and 15's leadership behind bars.

Local 15 demands a similar piece of the action via "®maintenance engineers." They're required on site full time when a master mechanic is there and three major pieces of equipment are operating in case any machines need fixing.

"There is nothing for these guys to do," a World Trade Center construction supervisor said. Eliminating that requirement would save $7.5 million over three years at Ground Zero, REBNY says.

Then there's the Local 15 position of "crane oiler," a relic from the days when equipment needed frequent lubrication. An oiler is required on site when any tower crane is in use.

Today, the oiler simply fires up the crane at the start of work. With overtime, he can earn more than $100,000 a year.

And there's Local 14's "stationary equipment operator," with one assigned to each compressor, welding machine and spray fireproofer in use. With overtime, they pull down about $110,000 a year, REBNY estimated.

A World Trade Center construction supervisor who asked not to be identified said technology has reduced the job to two simple functions: "They turn the machine on in the morning and turn it off at night," the supervisor said. "They are basically non-essential."

REBNY wants the city to loosen the union's influence over who gets licensed to operate heavy machinery.

Now, only operators with city licenses can work here, and applicants must train with city crane operators - virtually all union workers. That gives the two locals a stranglehold on major projects.

"Locals 14 and 15 have the hammer. They have the power to shut down a job," said Steven Spinola, president of REBNY, which wants to be able to hire nationally licensed crane operators

Boozed-up tour bus driver kills pedestrian in New York city

Police investigate the scene of accident near 9th Ave. and W. 47th St. Saturday night.

Police investigate the scene of accident near 9th Ave. and W. 47th St. Saturday night.

A boozed-up tour bus driver was arrested after fatally mowing down a man in Midtown, police said.

Cops arrested the unidentified driver after he failed a Breathalyzer test.

Cops arrested the unidentified driver after he failed a Breathalyzer test.
Timothy White was dragged for nearly 30 feet under the rear wheel of the bus as it turned onto Ninth Ave. at W. 47th St. just before 10 p.m. Saturday, cops and witnesses said.

White, 29, of Philadelphia, was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he died, cops said.

The 57-year-old driver, Steve Drappel, of West Palm Beach, Fla. was arrested after failing a Breathalyzer test.

He allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .08 which is twice the legal amount for commercial drivers, at .04, police said. Drappel was charged with vehicular manslaughter and DWI.

Investigators found a bottle of booze on Drappel when he was arrested, sources said.

A number listed for Drappel was disconnected. On his Facebook page, he wrote under activities and interest: "I hate people who can't drive for s---."

Witnesses said it appeared that Drappel was not immediately aware that he had struck a pedestrian and had to be flagged down before he stopped.

"There was a woman who screamed at the top of her lungs," said a 24-year-old witness, who would not give his name.

"People were shouting for the bus to stop and it almost rolled over him again. ...It took a long time for him to stop."

The grisly scene was more than the man could bear to look at at.

"I had to walk away - seeing someone pulled under a bus was just a bloody mess," he said.

The bus had just finished taking tourists on a nighttime city tour run by Chinatown tour operator L & L Travel.

Officials there say they had hired the bus from another company, TraveLynx Inc., of Cocoa, Fla. and that Drappel works for them.

When reached by phone, a TraveLynx official said, "We are running an investigation now, so I really cannot comment."

Federal safety records show a bus owned by the company was involved in a fatal head-on crash in Florida in 2009. In that case, police said the driver of the other car, who was killed, was at fault after veering into the bus' lane.

L & L official Jennifer Yang said she spoke to passengers who told her Drappel's driving had raised no alarm.

"They said the bus driver was driving safely the whole time. They didn't know how this happened," she said. "They said the driver was driving very slowly."

She said the passengers were taken back to their hotel in New Jersey aboard another bus.

Another L & L rep, Jack Lok, said the company works with 30 different bus companies and had temporarily suspended its relationship with TraveLynx.

"We extend our sympathy and we are sorry for the accident. If there is any way we can cooperate with the authorities, we will do so," Lok said. "We've never had a problem like this, so we were very surprised."

The accident comes nearly two months after a fatal bus crash in the Bronx killed 15 passengers headed back to the city from a Connecticut casino.

The incident led to a crack-down on city bus companies, with inspectors aggressively checking for fatigued drivers and unsafe equipment.

Pippa Middleton : 10 Things You Should Know About her

Pippa! Pippa! Pippa! Is Kate Middleton's sister the new Marcia Brady? Wearing a stunning body-hugging dress by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, the maid of honor was immediately dubbed Her Royal Hotness on Friday. Men across the land berated Prince William for picking the wrong sister, while secretly thanking him at the same time.

Here's what you need to know about Pippa Middleton, everyone's new favorite bachelorette:

1. Philippa Charlotte Middleton, 27, is Carole and Michael Middleton's second daughter. Her siblings include older sister Kate and younger brother James. Known as "Pip" to her family and "Pippa" to the world, she reportedly has asked to be called Philippa going forward.

2. She's currently dating 30-year-old London broker and former England cricketer Alex Loudon, who is a friend ofPrince William. The one-year relationship appears to be pretty serious. Loudon attended the ceremony, and was seated with the Middleton family. And according to rumors, an engagement may be on the horizon once the royal wedding mania fades. But now that Pippa has gotten a taste of the global media spotlight will she be ready to settle down?

3. Sorry, commoner dudes. Her former beau roster includes only affluent gents, such as Jonathan "JJ" Jardine Paterson, an heir to the Hong Kong Jardine Matheson fortune, Scottish aristocrat Billy More Nesbitt and diamond heir Simon Youngman.

4. After studying English literature at the University of Edinburgh, Pippa began working for an events planner, combining her love of partying and regal connections. She also runs The Party Times, an online magazine for her parents' business.

5. Pippa was named the Number One Society Singleton by Tatler magazine in 2008. She even surpassed Princess Eugenie of York, Prince William's cousin, on the list.

6. She's BFFs with Chelsy Davy, Prince Harry's on-again, off-again girlfriend. The nightclub-loving girls are often spotted together out and about in London.

7. Her tush has Facebook fans (thanks to all her bend-and-reach bridal duties). The Pippa Middleton Ass Appreciation Society is currently boasting almost 150,000 "likes."

8. Before the royal wedding, she had gained the media nickname "Perfect Pippa" for her toned legs, bronzed skin, shiny hair and ease in front of the paparazzi lens.

9. She helped plan the post-reception dance party at Buckingham Palace. She reportedly requested that disco balls be suspended from the ceiling, which the Palace pooh-poohed.

10. Now that Kate is married, Pippa will be entitled to use the duchess' original coat of arms with a blue ribbon, which represents an unmarried Middleton female.
