Empire State Building puts on high-tech light show

Alicia Keys "flips the switch" to unveil The Empire State Building's new LED tower lights with an exclusive light show choreographed to her songs, "Girl on Fire" and "Empire State of Mind", on Monday, November 26, 2012.

The Empire State Building put on a glitzy light show on Monday night - with a little help from Alicia Keys.

The 14-time Grammy winner flipped the switch on the iconic Manhattan skyscraper's new LED tower light display, a moment that was also synchronized with the playing of her tunes “Girl on Fire” and “Empire State of Mind.”

"The Empire State Building has always been a symbol of what's possible in New York, and all the dreams that can come true in this city that never sleeps," Keys said in a statement. "I'm so excited to unveil the new tower lights that are going to illuminate the city below like never before—shining bright with inspiration. As a proud New Yorker, I'm so honored and humbled to be a little part of its history."

And Keys later tweeted a photo (below): "Watching the Empire State Building light up with GOF and Empire State of mind was BEYOND my wildest dreams!!"
